Losada Vinos de Finca, a renowned winery from El Bierzo, joins Grandes Pagos de España together with Alta Alella as we mentioned in previous days. This entry reinforces Losada’s commitment to winemaking excellence and highlights its role as a benchmark in the production of premium wines from El Bierzo.
Losada Vinos de Finca stands out for its innovative and environmentally friendly approach, using sustainable practices and precision viticulture to obtain grapes of the highest quality. Its wines have been recognized in national and international markets, consolidating the winery’s reputation as one of the most outstanding wineries in El Bierzo.
Founded in 2005, Losada Vinos de Finca is a small winery located in the heart of El Bierzo, a privileged enclave in the province of León. The property gathers a treasure of very old Mencía vineyards (70-80 years old), distributed in micro-plots located in some of the most emblematic spots of El Bierzo: such as Las Chas, La Pobladura or La Labradía (Valtuille de Arriba), on poor clay soils, where Mencía expresses a succulent acidity and a harmonious texture. Or El Cepón (Villadecanes) with an exceptional soil of loose sands, where we obtain wines with more tension and harmony.
Their Godello plots, are in the village of San Lorenzo in the Boeza Valley, are 25 to 40 years old vineyards, and due to its soils with a high content of ferric slate, and thanks to the shelter of the Aquilanos Mountains, they get very fine and mineral Godellos, with a vibrant acidity.
In the past months, Losada has passed with flying colors all the stages of the entry process to join our family of now thirty-four wineries. Making singular wines that represent the terroir and a philosophy of respect for the typicity and origin of the estate are part of the DNA of Grandes Pagos de España and of Losada Vinos de Finca in its terroir of El Bierzo.
