Our philosophy as a winery is to produce balanced wines of high quality from our own grapes by hand harvesting them at optimum maturity and by carefully ageing wine both in barrel and bottle.

As for the nature of our wines, we have achieved our styles by respecting the typical characteristics of each of our varieties and by allowing the terroir to express itself in each of our wines: Vallegarcía Viognier, Vallegarcía Syrah and Hipperia.

The first vineyard was planted in 1999 and the first crop was harvested in 2001. During the first four years we evaluated the potential quality of the grapes, producing small batches of wine at the neighbouring winery, Dehesa del Carrizal.

The quality of our first wines has been recognized by leading critics, including Robert Parker, and the results encouraged Alfonso Cortina to build his own winery, which was inaugurated on September 14, 2006, by His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain.
