Finca Sandoval is a cherished, personal project started in 1998 by renowned journalist and wine writer Victor de la Serna, who teamed up with winemaker Rafael Orozco. The property is sited within its own vineyards which are planted with Syrah and Touriga Nacional. These vineyards, located in the heart of Manchuela, have also seen the slow incorporation of some of the best native varieties of the region (Bobal, Monastrell, Garnacha, Garnacha Tintorera) in a bid to fulfil a dream formed over 40 years of deep knowledge and understanding of the soils on this estate. The wines are hence a tribute to a region whose enormous potential is now visible in the quality of the wines it produces, each imbued with great personality. The wines are made with a single aim in mind, to effortlessly convey the character of these upland vineyards, rich in limestone soils and subjected to extreme continental climatic conditions.
